Radius Housing – Housing Management System Implementation Case Study
Radius Housing needed additional expertise to deliver a critical integration within their new Housing Management System. With multiple suppliers, tight timelines, and past implementation challenges, they required someone who could stabilise delivery, build confidence, and ensure a smooth go‑live.
How I Supported Radius:
-
Quickly embedded into the team, providing clarity, structure, and momentum
-
Strengthened communication between Radius, suppliers, and contractors
-
Produced process maps, documentation, test scripts, and user guides
-
Delivered training, testing, and hands‑on support through go‑live and beyond
-
Escalated risks early and provided practical mitigation options
-
Built trust and capability across the team, reducing long‑term external dependency
The Outcome:
Radius went live on time with minimal disruption. Repairs are now processing end‑to‑end with full automation, improving efficiency and customer experience. The team is more confident, capable, and equipped to manage future changes independently.
What Radius said:
“Cheryl delivers results, builds confidence in teams, and left us stronger than when she arrived.
One of the most effective consultants we have worked with.”

One year ago, I launched Cheryl Welbourn Consultancy Ltd with a clear vision: to support housing providers and software suppliers through change, challenge, and delivery. What a year it’s been!
Over the past 12 months, I’ve partnered with six clients across the housing and software sector, taking on varied and rewarding roles:
-
Acted as Test Manager for a HMS, mobile, and portal implementation
-
Supported the essential integration and configuration between three external repairs contractors and a housing provider during their HMS migration
-
Provided critical friend support to a market-leading compliance software provider
-
Led a SharePoint migration to streamline collaboration
-
Developed a business case for an asset data hierarchy project, engaging all departments
-
Audited compliance data and processes to validate both structure and outcomes
I’ve learnt that it’s okay to say “not right now”, when the timing’s right, things align. I’ve also learnt I can switch off, as long as the groundwork’s solid.
Being my own boss suits me, anyone who knows me knows I’m a stickler for clarity and perfection.
Thank you to every client and collaborator who’s made this year so rewarding. Special thanks to those who gave me the confidence to take the leap and supported me from the start. In true housing fashion, a few familiar faces popped up on Teams calls this year, those moments of recognition boosted confidence on both sides.
Year two is already taking shape: new projects agreed, long-term collaborations continuing, and fresh conversations underway to explore where I can help.
If you’re navigating change or delivery challenges, let’s talk.

It’s been a little while since my last update—not due to a lack of news, but because I’ve been happily immersed in supporting clients through pivotal moments in their delivery journeys.
Next week, I’ll be travelling to work onsite with a customer. These face-to-face engagements are always a highlight, offering valuable opportunities for collaboration, clarity, and connection.
October marks the first anniversary of Cheryl Welbourn Consultancy Ltd, and I’m proud to reflect on a rewarding year. Drawing on the breadth of experience from my previous roles across the industry, I’ve been able to offer clients a well-rounded, outcome-focused service tailored to their evolving needs.
To all my customers and associates: thank you for your trust, partnership, and ongoing support. It’s been a privilege to work alongside you.

Its been a busy 7 months since I started CWC, so time to recharge my batteries and head to the coast for a long weekend with the husband and dog.
Fantastic weather, great beach walks and a few cream teas along the way, now I'm back refreshed and ready to go!
Thanks to all of you for your continued support!

4th March 2025
I've been asked to continue supporting the implementation of the housing management system, focusing on relationships with third-party contractors and suppliers while ensuring the team can self-support when they go live.
Additionally, a large provider has engaged me to support the delivery of their asset hierarchy and data model. The goal is to create a standardised organisational structure that meets service needs, shifting the business from a reactive to a proactive approach. Significant pre-work took place to define my scope, ensuring clarity on deliverables.
Last week, I had my first face-to-face meeting with the supplier in my critical friend role—look out for an announcement on that soon! It was great to meet the team and start shaping an action plan that will drive real impact.
Finally, the board has signed off on progressing with the SharePoint migration I referenced last month.
My services resulted in a detailed presentation to the board, clarity on the stages of the project and the resource needed, and now we’re moving to the next phase: planning a pilot and getting buy-in.
3rd February 2025
Data Health Check and Report: I have successfully completed a comprehensive data health check and created a detailed report of findings and actions for the board. The customer provided positive feedback, highlighting the report as comprehensive and insightful. Contact me if you would like me to take you through the details of what was covered.
Housing Management System Implementation: I am currently supporting a customer in implementing a new housing management system. My focus is on integrating third-party solutions to support several business-critical processes, utilising my experience with the current system while learning the new one.
SharePoint Migration Planning: The SharePoint migration planning is progressing well. We have reviewed governance and configuration, including folder structures, and are preparing to present this to the programme management board later this month. If you are planning to migrate from Network Shares and /or EDRM then contact me and I can give you some pointers to getting going.
5th December 2024
I've been busy planning for the New Year to deliver varied projects that leverage my knowledge and expertise. I was on site this week to conduct a data health check, interviewing teams to understand current processes, blockers, and of course digging into the data. I'll present my findings to the board in the New Year.
I'm also developing a proposal for SharePoint migration services and will be visiting a customer before Christmas to align my proposal with their requirements. Working with real-life projects help me design the best services.
I am looking forward to becoming a critical friend for a supplier that I truly believe in, who deliver great software. I am honoured to have been selected.
14th November 2024
It's been an incredibly busy and rewarding month since launching CWC. I've had the pleasure of engaging in numerous insightful conversations about my services and how I can support housing providers.
The feedback has been fantastic, leading to several follow-up calls and the commencement of two exciting projects!
